Dovi Friedman

Dovi Friedman is the director of family programming and youth engagement for Aish Detroit. Dovi worked for many years as the director of programming and summer recruitment for the boy's division of JEPLI/Camp Nageela East in Long Island, New York. He received rabbinic ordination from Rabbi Moshe Faskowitz at Yeshiva Madreigas HaAdam. Dovi enjoys creating a dynamic learning experience for kids of all ages within the Jewish community. He is bringing his passion and educational training to Aish Detroit this November with his wife, Malkie.

Rafi Hirsh

Rabbi Rafi Hirsh grew up in Baltimore, MD. After high school, he moved to Jerusalem where he studied in the old city at the Aish Hatorah College for Jewish Studies under the guidance of Rabbi Noah Weinberg. He received his rabbinic ordination from Rabbi Yitzchok Berkovits from the Jerusalem Kollel as well as a master’s degree in education from Johns Hopkins University. Rabbi Hirsh moved from Jerusalem to New York in 2019 to join Ohr Torah of Rochester. Since having moved, he has become greatly involved in the Limmud Hebrew school of Temple Beth El, teaching grades 2-7. He also teaches at the local Hillel Day School and tutors college students at University of Rochester. Since COVID-19, Rabbi Hirsh has been teaching several series to adults on Hebrew reading and comprehension via Zoom, as well as Torah classes to teens throughout the neighborhood.

Simcha Tolwin

Rabbi Simcha Tolwin is the Educational Director and founder of HSA. He is the Executive Director of Aish Hatorah Detroit and serves on the AMUTA of Aish Jerusalem. Rabbi Tolwin is a former board member of Camp Tamarack Fresh Air Society, and has been teaching for 25 years. When he's not teaching he's either doing yoga, studying Torah, fundraising or spending time with. his wife and 6 children.
